ASSE Name Change and Dues Increase announced at Region III ROC Meeting in February

Posted: Feb 23, 2017

ASSE Region III Vice President (RVP), Steve Gray met with Chapter Leadership at the Regional Operating Committee (ROC) conference call on February 17, 2017.  Chapter President, Ben Maldonado, and Chapter Past-President, Renee Witherspoon were in attendance.

Rick McCain and Steve Jablon provided updates on the 2017 Professional Development Conference (PDC) which will be held on September 11-13, 2017 at the Hurst Conference Center in Hurst, Texas.  Although the PDC Conference Committee has received many submissions for speakers, they are needing additional sponsors and exhibitors.  Steve asked that each Chapter bring in at least two sponsors or exhibitors to the conference to assist.  Go to to register.

Coming up on April 7-9 is the Student Leadership Conference in Edmond Oklahoma.  It’s the largest event in ASSE for students, so the Student Leadership Planning Committee would like to ask if each Chapter in Region III could step-up and make a monitery donation that would help offset the cost to students.  The planning committee anticipates the cost for local students to be $60/person or $125/person for students that may have to travel and stay in a hotel.

The big news is that ASSE is considering a name change in an effort to rebrand the Society.  This name change will also include a logo change.
